The Ianapera Graphite Project is located in the north of Malagasy’s tenure, 20km north-east of the Fortadrevo Township. Geologically, the project is very similar to the Maniry Graphite Project, being hosted within the Ampanihy Graphite Belt and being proximal to the Ankafotia Anorthosite Massif.
The project consists of numerous (>10) lenses of graphite mineralisation in the form of large, prevalent hills. Sampling has returned values over 30% TGC (Total Graphitic Carbon) in the form of the much sought after Jumbo flakes with low levels of contaminants.
Significantly, the project is located between 5-15km away from Energizer Resources Inc. (EGZ:Canada) Molo Graphite Resource. The total Indicated Resource is estimated at 83.99 Mt, grading at 6.36% C, with an additional Inferred Resource of 40.32 Mt, grading at 6.3% C. Energizer completed a Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) Study in February 2014 and production is anticipated to commence in 2015.
