The Maniry Graphite Project is located in the south of Malagasy’s tenure, 20km north of the Ampanihy Township. The project is part of the Ampanihy Graphitic Belt that is comprised of highly metamorphosed graphitic schists, marble, quartz-feldspar schists and gneiss’s, intruded by a range of younger, felsic-ultramafic intrusions. Significantly, the prospect is located proximally to the Saririaky Anorthosite Massif, which probably contributed to the structural architecture of the area and resultant graphitic concentrations.
The project consists of numerous (>100) lenses of Graphite mineralisation in the form of large, prominent hills. Sampling has returned values over 50% TGC (Total Graphitic Carbon) in the form of the much sought after jumbo flakes with low levels of contaminants.
The project is in its initial phases, with systematic mapping and sampling aiding the evaluation of each mineralised lens.
The Maniry Graphite Project is a priority project as it believed that it will develop into a multiple deposit, large tonnage, high-grade resource with the potential to be a quality stand alone mining operation.
