This Australian gold producer operates in two distinct project regions in Western Australia: the Karlawinda Gold Project in the Pilbara region and the Mt Gibson Gold Project, which is currently under development in the Mid-West region.
The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Pit Technician to join our dynamic team at our Karlawinda Gold Project. This is a full-time permanent role and is crucial in supporting our mining team, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of data collection, collation and processing. Reporting to the Senior Mine Technician and Senior Mine Geologist you will be instrumental in contributing to the success of a fast-growing gold company. Your dedication to teamwork and coordination will help us meet our site targets.
Other responsibilities include:
- Monitoring ore mining to maximise recovery and minimise dilution
- Providing accurate records of ore mining activities
- Conducting ore mark-ups and prepare areas for mining
- Ore spotting
- Co-coordinating grade control activities
- Grade control sampling, stockpile sampling, sample dispatch and data entry in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assisting the mine geologists and production team with general duties as required
ABOUT YOU
The ideal candidate for this position will meet the following criteria:
As the mine technician working in an operational mine site environment, you will be a highly motivated individual with approx 2 + years’ experience. You will be physically fit and capable of adapting to demanding work conditions, with a strong commitment to safety.
- Driver’s license (C Class, manual car) – essential;
- 2+ years employment history as a Geology Technician or Pit Technician
- Experience in working with different types and styles of deposits
- Well-rounded technical and geology software skills
